Montreal-style smoked meat was developed by the city’s delicatessens in the early 1900s. Cured Canadian beef briskets are covered with the signature Lesters rub, then smoked to perfection to create their unmistakable flavour. Go traditional by slicing it thin for sandwiches, or get creative by adding it to your favourite recipes for a new twist.

Ingredients

Beef, Water, Salt, Flavour (corn, soy), Caramel, Sodium phosphate, Spices, Sugars (brown sugar, sugar, glucose solids), Sodium erythorbate, Sodium nitrite, Garlic, Sodium bicarbonate. Contains: Soy. May contain: Wheat.

Mode of preparation

Remove from plastic bag and cook in a steam table for 1½ to 2 hrs at maximum heat. Keep warm in a steam table at medium heat. Can also be heated in a covered pan in the oven at 350F. Hand slice with a sharp knife or use a slicer and cut against the grain.
