Ingredients

2 balls of pizza dough (450 g each)
1 cup pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1 pack of Lesters Jumbo Original hot dog sausages (450 g)

For the salsa:
1 tomato, seeded and diced
A drizzle of olive oil
1 garlic clove, minced
1 jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
1/2 small red onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 tsp salt

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 230 °C (450 °F).
  2. Divide each ball of dough into three equal parts. Shape each part into a small “boat” with a cavity in the center. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Top the dough with sauce and cheese, then place the sausages on top.
  4. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the dough is puffed and lightly golden.
  5. Switch the oven to “broil” and continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes, until the cheese is golden.
  6. Meanwhile, mix the salsa ingredients in a small bowl.
  7. Top each pizza-dog with salsa.
