Ingredients

8 slices of bacon
8 Lesters Jumbo BBQ hot dog sausages
8 hot dog buns
3 tbsp melted butter
2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
1/4 cup chopped green onions

For the Ranch Sauce:
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup sour cream
1/3 cup buttermilk
2 tbsp chopped fresh dill (or 1 tsp dried dill)
2 tbsp chopped fresh chives (or 1 tsp dried chives)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp lemon juice
Salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation

  1. Preheat the barbecue to medium high heat (about 220 °C / 425 °F).
  2. Wrap each sausage with a slice of bacon.
  3. Place the bacon wrapped sausages in a large aluminum tray, then set the tray on the hot grill.
  4. Cook for 12 to 15 minutes, turning the sausages several times, until the bacon is golden and crispy.
  5. Meanwhile, mix all the ranch sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Refrigerate.
  6. Brush the hot dog buns with melted butter.
  7. On the hot grill, toast the buns for 30 seconds to 1 minute per side.
  8. Fill each bun with a bacon wrapped sausage, lettuce, tomatoes, ranch sauce, and green onions.
