Ingredients

350 g Lesters shaved steak 

1 tbsp butter 

1 tbsp vegetable oil 

1 medium onion, chopped 

1 cup sliced mushrooms (white or cremini) 

1 tbsp all-purpose flour 

1/2 cup beef broth 

2/3 cup sour cream or yoghurt or 15% cooking cream 

1 tbsp Dijon mustard 

Salt and pepper to taste 

Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish 

 

To serve:

300 g wide egg noodles, cooked 

Steamed vegetables (peas and sliced carrots) 

Crusty bread on the side (optional)

Preparation

  1. In a skillet, melt the butter with the oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion and mushrooms, sauté for 5–6 minutes until tender.
  3. Sprinkle with flour, stir, and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and stir well. Let simmer until slightly thickened, about 2–3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the sour cream and Dijon mustard until smooth.
  6. Add the shaved steak and heat gently for 5–10 minutes.
  7. Serve over noodles, garnish with fresh parsley, and enjoy with steamed veggies.
