1. The contest is organized by Lesters Foods Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest Organizer”) and will begin on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 12:01 a.m. (EST), and will end on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (EST) (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest Period”) on the lesters.ca/alamaison web page. The electronic entry form must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. EST on September 15. In-store draw dates will fall between these dates, and the draw date for each store will be clearly indicated on promotional material in the participating store.
2. This contest is open to all Quebec residents 18 years of age or older, with the exception of: 1o Employees of Lesters Foods Ltd. or their subsidiaries, associated groups, affiliated or franchised companies, advertising agencies and successors or agents of the aforementioned groups; 2o Residents of the aforementioned groups.
3. No purchase necessary. Simply scan the QR code on the contest posters or placards available in grocery stores or go to lesters.ca/alamaison and fill out the entry form to be eligible to win one of the150 hot dog roller grills with 10 packages of Lesters hot dogs of your choice (to be picked up at participating grocery stores), for a total value of approximately $175.00.
3.2 During the contest period, use your cell phone or computer to vote at lesters.ca/alamaison. To be eligible for the contest, you must complete all mandatory fields on the electronic entry form.
Limit of one entry every seven days during the contest period for each grocery store.
4. Odds of winning one of the 150 prizes in this contest depend on the total number of eligible entries entered on the web page accessible via QR code or on Lesters.ca/alamaison. A person may win only once.
4.1. Each participant who so desires will have the chance to obtain five (5) additional entries per seven (7) day period if he/she submits a self-portrait with a hot dog (in a paper identified with the Lesters brand, if desired) or a photo of his/her friends or family with hot dogs (in Lesters papers, if desired), by following the instructions on the contest web page, according to the conditions set out in section 18b of these rules.
5. The draw for the 150 prizes, valued at approximately $175.00/each, will take place for each point of sale, on the date indicated on the promotional material available in the grocery store. The draw among all entries will be made electronically, and 1 winner will be determined per participating grocery store.
One (1) entry will be selected electronically at random from all eligible entries received from Quebec (or Canada) for each participating grocery store.
6. The grand prizes offered are as follows
150 hot dog roller grills and 10 retail-sized packages of Lesters hot dogs of the winner’s choice, a total value of approximately $175. Prizes will be awarded at the participating IGA or Métro grocery store on a date to be determined by the participating grocery store.
– The same person may win only once;
– The prize is not redeemable for cash, but may be transferred under the conditions set out in section 14 of these Contest Rules;
– All other expenses related to the acceptance of the prize will be assumed by the winner.
The total value of the prizes awarded in this contest is $26,250.00.
7. To be declared a winner and be eligible to claim his/her prize, the participant whose form was drawn electronically at random must meet the following conditions:
a) He/she must be reachable by e-mail, by the contest organizers, at the e-mail address indicated on the entry form, within five (5) business days following the draw or the date of the first communication from the contest organizers;
b) Must be a resident of Quebec and 18 years of age or older;
c) He/she must sign the declaration and liability waiver form, which will be sent to him/her by mail, fax or e-mail, and which he/she must return to the contest organizers within fifteen (15) days of the date it was sent;
d) If the entrant whose entry form was drawn fails to comply with any of the above conditions or with any condition set out in these Contest Rules, he/she will be disqualified and a new draw will be held until a winner is determined.
8. Upon receipt of the duly signed declaration and release form, the winner will be notified by e-mail of the date on which he/she may claim his/her prize at the participating grocery store.
9. None of the sponsors, affiliates and franchisees of Lesters Foods Ltd. shall be held responsible for the use of the prizes awarded in the context of this contest and shall not assume any liability with respect to the prize or events that may arise from the contest. The winner will be required to sign a declaration and release form to this effect.
10. Entry forms will be subject to verification by the contest organizers, where applicable. Any entry form obtained from an unauthorized source will not be eligible for entry. Any person who enters or attempts to enter this contest in a manner that is contrary to the spirit of this contest or unfair to other entrants (e.g., computer hacking, multiple entries, fraudulently obtaining invoices and unique codes, etc.) will be automatically disqualified and may be reported to the appropriate legal authorities. The decision of the contest organizers in this regard is final and without appeal.
11. Lesters Foods Ltd. assumes no responsibility for any failure of the website during the contest period or for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, or for any electronic entry, due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading any materials in this Contest.
12. Lesters Foods Ltd. reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the electronic component of the contest should a virus, bug or other factor beyond its control corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Lesters Foods Ltd. reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared void if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, damaged, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.
13. The winner acknowledges that the performance of prize-related services is the sole and exclusive responsibility of the service providers. The winner will be required to sign a clause to this effect, included in the Declaration and Release of Liability Form.
14. Lesters Foods Ltd. reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to award a prize of equal or equivalent value in the event that the prize or any component of the prize is unavailable for any reason. Subject to the foregoing, the prize must be accepted as awarded and cannot be exchanged for cash.
15. The Contest Organizers reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate or suspend this Contest in the event of a virus, computer bug, unauthorized human intervention or any other cause beyond the control of the Contest Organizers that corrupts or affects the administration, security, impartiality or normal operation of the Contest.
16. Once the prizes have been awarded to the winners, the contest organizers will not be held responsible in any way for situations in which the prizes have been acquired, such as: closure of an establishment, change of owner(s) or manager(s), labour dispute or any other situation that could directly or indirectly affect the winners’ prizes.
17. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations. The decisions of the contest organizers are final with respect to all aspects of the contest.
18. By entering this contest, the winner accepts that his/her name, place of residence, voice, image, photograph and statements relating to the prize may be used for publicity purposes, without financial consideration. The winner agrees to sign a clause to this effect included in the declaration and release form.
18b. Any participant who submits a photo to the contest to obtain one additional vote per 7-day period agrees to assign full rights of use and distribution to the contest organizer in accordance to Law 25. It is at the discretion of the contest organizer whether or not to use submitted photos, including but not limited to publicity material, on the web and in various social networks. Consent, in accordance with Law 25, is revocable upon written request to Lesters Foods Ltd. by the winner or any participant who submitted a photo. If such a request is received, Lesters Foods agrees to cease all use of said photo on its printed communications and social networking platforms.
19. Lesters Foods Ltd. remains at all times the exclusive owner of all electronic contest entry forms and photos, which will not be returned to entrants under any circumstances. No correspondence will be entered into with participants in the context of the contest, except with those whose entry forms have been drawn at random, unless the participant has voluntarily consented by checking the appropriate box on the form.
20. For the purposes of this contest, the entrant is the person whose name and e-mail address were used to enter the contest. This is the person to whom the prize, if any, will be awarded.
